Show History

The Manchester Antique and Classic Car Show was created 29 years ago and quickly established itself as the “dust off” show on the calendars of car enthusiasts.

Oscar Johnson, then Board Chair of Hildene-The Lincoln Family Home located the show on the Hildene Meadowlands.

Oscar’s enthusiasm was contagious and energized the reputation for what became one of Manchester’s most popular annual events. Through the years the event has hosted from 25 to over a thousand cars.

Today local businesses join forces with the Manchester and the Mountains Regional Chamber of Commerce, who took the leadership of the car show in 2003, to welcome car enthusiasts every June. The Manchester community provides lodging, dining and shopping specials to enhance the weekend’s activities.

The car show is now located at The Dorr Farm which is another great location with increased visibility on Route 30.

With the leadership of George Ohweiler of Long Trail Auto and a committee of car enthusiasts The Manchester and the Mountains Chamber continues to grow the show, perpetuate its traditions and broaden its reach to attract new exhibitors and attendees to The Shires of Vermont.
